Kurt Gavalier

Kurt joined Turner’s Mid-Atlantic office as a scheduling engineer after a stint at Bechtel and General Electric.

In 2013, Kurt took on the role of National Lean Manager for all of Turner. He ensured that all national and regional Lean goals and initiatives were aligned and standardized lean learning across the company. Working with other Regional Lean Managers and Last Planner coaches, Kurt and his team helped facilitate project, business unit, and company process improvements and continuous improvement efforts.

In 2021, Kurt took on his current role as National Director of Offsite Construction, leading company-wide offsite construction efforts. He oversees a team focused on development of project prefabrication approaches, supply chain evaluations, and operational analyses. Together, the Offsite team works with project teams across multiple market segments to further implement offsite construction methods and techniques, including DfMA, multi-trade, and volumetric solutions.


Kurt is a 1999 graduate of Virginia Tech, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Kurt, his wife Whitney and their two boys reside in Bristow, VA.
