Turner Foundation Announces Partnership with Foster Care to Success

The Turner Construction Company Foundation is pleased to announce its first charity partner, Foster Care to Success (FC2S). 

This partnership marks a significant milestone in the Foundation's commitment to making a positive impact in the communities where Turner Construction builds. By collaborating with FC2S, the Foundation aims to provide crucial support and opportunities to foster youth, helping them overcome challenges and achieve success in both their educational and career pursuits.

Since 1981, FC2S has helped youth who have experienced foster care attend college with financial assistance, career advising, and life skills coaching. FC2S has consistently recognized that there are multiple pathways to adulthood, self-sufficiency, and employment. Academic college is suitable for many, but not for all. In August 2024, FC2S is launching Community Now, a designated fund to help young people learn about careers, skills needed in today’s construction workforce, and certifications. 

FC2S has surveyed nearly 6,500 foster youth who enrolled in academic college courses, 58% said they were interested in learning about education and training courses that lead directly to in-demand, stable employment. 

“We are confident that Community Now’s emphasis on certificates, apprenticeships, and on-the-job training will complement our more traditional college scholarship program,” said Eileen McCaffrey, Executive Director of FC2S. “We are committed to helping young people enter the workforce and build a different future from their childhood experiences.” 

Christa Andresky, EVP & CFO of the Turner Construction Company and a Foundation Board member, expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of supporting vulnerable youth. She stated, “Our collaboration with Foster Care to Success aligns with our mission to make a meaningful impact in the communities where we live and work. We are dedicated to providing these young individuals with the resources and opportunities they need to succeed in life and their careers in the building trades.”
