The Iowa Events Center is a three venue, state-of-the-art multi-purpose complex located in the heart of downtown Des Moines, IA. The facility hosts many of the area’s biggest conventions and tradeshows and has become a prime destination for sports and entertainment. The project, which Turner managed along with a joint venture partner, had three major pieces: a new arena, new exhibit hall, and the renovation of an existing auditorium. All three are linked together forming the largest multi-purpose facility in the state of Iowa.
The facility has over 226,000 sq. ft. of combined meeting, exhibit, and ballroom space. Hy-Vee Hall is the state’s largest exhibit hall at 100,000 sq. ft. Wells Fargo Arena is a world-class stage for today’s top entertainment and serves as the home for many of the area’s professional sports teams, including The Iowa Wolves, Iowa Wild, and the Iowa Barnstormers Arena Football team. The historic Veterans Memorial Auditorium is connected to the new arena through a series of tunnels and skywalks.
