The new Bellaire High School was constructed within the existing campus, adjacent to residential properties along bordering streets. Located within a 100-year floodplain, the 396,378 sq. ft. phased project features a three-story classroom wing, JROTC center, CTE and computer labs, a two-story competition and auxiliary gym with locker and shower rooms, a Natatorium with diving well, a theatre/Black Box Center, dance, choral, guitar, and piano spaces, debate/music rooms, and an auditorium with mezzanine.
Outdoor amenities include a synthetic turf football field with six-lane track and off-site baseball and softball fields. Notable features include the glulam “Main Street” Natatorium roof with direct access to the campus’s central multipurpose courtyard, VRF mechanical systems, and a four-story parking garage to maximize site efficiency. The project is LEED v4 Certified.
The new Bellaire High School earned the Houston Business Journal’s 2023 Landmark Award in the Education category.
