Turner is providing project management services for the Istanbul Financial Center (IFC), envisioned as the new nexus of the global financial sector, as well as around-the-clock public hub. The project spans 7.5 million square feet of land and the estimated population of the area is around 30,000 people. The center will house 21 office buildings with 14 million square feet of office space, a one million square foot shopping center, a conference and performance center for 2,100 people, a five star hotel spanning 300,000 square feet, and a parking lot with a capacity for more than 26,000 vehicles.
The Istanbul Finance Center is being developed by the Turkish Government to position the country as one of the world’s top ten economies. In addition, the master plan for the Istanbul Finance Center creates four distinct districts focusing on culture, commerce, civic functions, and governance. Major infrastructure improvements on this project include a transportation system featuring a new subway line and station, as well as new infrastructure for sustainable power, water, and data security.
