Columbia University Medical Center, Neurological Institute

Turner provided construction services for Columbia University Medical Center's Neurological Department located at 710 West 168th Street. The scope of work included the phased renovation of four monitoring rooms, three storage rooms, four MRI suites, while working within an active hospital. Faced with a four-phased schedule the team re-drew phasing locations to ensure temporary partitions were in place to accommodate the trade's work-flow. Located in the basement, Turner discovered the suites sat on a large scale of bedrock. To mediate the situation, an expert was brought in to suggest corrective issues and reinforce the slab for the new MRI Machines. This team created a remediation plan to remain on schedule and continue work.
