Confidential Hotel Project

The confidential hotel project was comprised of two seven-story buildings joined together by an iconic Flight Center, which was restored to serve as the hotel's lobby. Restoration efforts also included the "flight tubes" that provided passengers and hotel guests with direct access to the airport terminal. The hotel featured a rooftop power plant, six restaurants, and eight bars, a 50,000 sq. ft. conference center, and a 10,000 sq. ft. observation/pool deck.

The successful completion of the project was the result of effective pre-planning and operational excellence. For example, a dynamic site protection plan was implemented to ensure the structural integrity of the landmarked buildings throughout the construction. Additionally, a dewatering program that involved the removal of 500 million gallons of water allowed the construction of foundations 25 feet below the water table of Jamaica Bay to be successfully accomplished.
