University of Portland Shiley Hall School of Engineering Renovation

One of the First Buildings on a College Campus to Earn a LEED Platinum Certification

A 30,000 sq. ft. addition and a 44,000 sq. ft. renovation to the historic School of Engineering Building, Shiley Hall, on the active Portland State University campus. The addition and renovation featured new smart classrooms, labs, lecture halls, faculty offices and conference rooms, full exterior window replacement, brick restoration and seismic upgrades.

Shiley Hall was recognized as one of the first 25 college campus buildings nationwide to earn a LEED Platinum certification due to sustainable design within the eco-roof, bio-swale, wind cowls on the roof that collect fresh air, countertops made of recycled compressed paper and energy efficient water fixtures that reduce water consumption by 47%.
