Nintendo of America Headquarters

Nintendo's Sustainable Headquarters

This 397,000 sq. ft. commercial, 4-story office building includes subgrade parking and an adjacent parking garage. Other amenities include an auditorium, a cafeteria, an exercise facility, and support spaces to improve the working environment for Nintendo employees. The project scope also included the demolition of 6 different buildings before commencing construction. The project was originally designed to LEED Silver standards, but Turner was able to integrate additional green features, as well as become the first Salmon-Safe certified general contractor, which helped the project achieve LEED Gold certification upon completion. Green features of this project included extensive water-efficient landscaping, the incorporation of a green roof, and an external façade designed to draw natural light into the building. Other green amenities included a green plaza, stormwater control systems, FSC-certified wood, and low-emitting materials.
