Full renovation of Kerr Hall's North building 2nd and 3rd floor Chemistry and Biology labs

The building remained occupied for the duration of construction requiring an extensive safety plan, especially during the demolition and abatement of the space. The project was also partially SIF funded, with strict budgetary and scheduling restraints to ensure payment. The project required strategic disposal strategies, material delivery, the use of a crane for steel erection and mechanical equipment placement on the roof, for which street permits and traffic control were needed. Scopes of work included abatement, structural steel erection, mechanical and electrical works, AV equipment, drywall, flooring, casework, and other finishes required for the completion of the new labs. The lab space was built with additional security requirements for lab entrances and chemical storage, and communication systems to connect computer desks within the lab to the remainder of the building infrastructure. The project was completed while the building remained fully occupied.
