Bedford Square

The 115,000 square foot mixed use development includes two floors of apartments and over two floors of retail over a below grade concrete parking garage. The project also includes the renovation of the existing 40,000 square foot Bedford building which was repurposed into retail space.

The Mansion and Firehouse have been transformed, with open and electric interiors, newly restored façades and expanded sidewalks. They are now home to the anchor store, Anthropologie, which occupies nearly 40,000 square feet of space on three floors. The additions, which replace the former 1960’s portion of the Westport Y, are a modern rift on the old, and include parking, retail, restaurant and high-end residential. Paths and passageways from each of the prominent streets lead to the central courtyard of Bedford Square, creating a vital meeting point for downtown. Currently, the retail spaces include the Philly-based restaurant group, Amis Trattoria, the butcher shop M-EAT and Savannah Bee, a honey and honey-based product store. The residential spaces include luxury apartments with outdoor terraces and views of Church Lane, Elm Street and the newly created courtyards of Bedford Square.

The project was a recipient of the 2017 CBC Project Team Awards for a Major Expansion and Renovation.
