Turner Earns Top Healthcare Construction Manager Ranking from Modern Healthcare

Recognition marks the 25th time in the last 29 years Turner has led the industry.

The Ohio State University’s $1.5 billion Wexner Medical Center University Hospital was the largest single-facility construction project in the university’s history. The 1.9-million-square-foot facility advances academic medicine and expands Ohio State’s capacity for research, clinical training, and patient care.

Turner has been named the nation's top Healthcare Construction Manager by Modern Healthcare, earning the publication's highest ranking for the 25th time in the last 29 years. Modern Healthcare's annual ranking is based on healthcare construction volume completed during the previous year.

The recognition reflects Turner's ability to deliver complex healthcare facilities that support patient care, clinical operations, and evolving healthcare needs.

In 2025, Turner completed more than $4 billion in healthcare construction. Major projects included The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center University Hospital, a joint venture with Walsh Construction, one of ten healthcare projects valued at more than $1 billion that were underway during the year.

Since completing its first hospital project in 1925, Turner has partnered with leading healthcare organizations to deliver hospitals, cancer centers, medical office buildings, research facilities, and specialty care centers that improve patient experiences and operational performance.

For the people building these facilities, the work is often personal. Many Turner employees and their families have received care in hospitals they helped deliver.

Current projects underway include:

Baptist Health Sunrise Hospital – Sunrise, Florida

Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center – Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania

Northern Chautauqua Hospital – Fredonia, New York

The Kenneth C. Griffin Pavilion at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center – New York, New York

Henry Ford Health Destination Grand – Detroit, Michigan

“Healthcare organizations place tremendous trust in their construction partners because the facilities we build impact patient care and community well-being,” said Randy Keiser, Senior Vice President. “This recognition reflects the dedication of our people and the strength of our partnerships with healthcare providers. We are honored to help our clients create environments that support healing, enable innovation, and improve access to high-quality care.”

Turner's healthcare teams combine deep sector expertise with advanced planning, virtual design and construction, prefabrication, technical engineering, and supply chain solutions to deliver complex projects safely and efficiently. By helping clients maintain operations during construction and adapt to evolving models of care, Turner supports healthcare organizations in meeting today's needs while preparing for the future.
