Become a SubcontractorTurner Construction Company is proud to celebrate the topping-out of the Evergreen Valley College Sequoia Nursing Addition in San Jose, California. The 15,000 square foot two-story building will replicate a sterile corridor in an intensive care unit in a hospital or clinic and includes simulation lab spaces and flexible classrooms attached to the existing Sequoia Lecture Hall.
The space will train and prepare students for immediate entrance into the patient care workforce, supporting the growth of the College's Nursing Program.
"Our knowledge as higher education builders combined with our collaborative relationship with Evergreen Valley College enables us to successfully navigate the complexities of working on an occupied college campus with zero injuries or near misses," said Jason Sardeson, Project Superintendent. Sardeson continued, “Our priority is to keep everyone safe and the campus running without disruption."
The project has maintained the original schedule, meeting Division of the State Architect approvals and all major milestones while overcoming over 25 rain days.
"It has been a pleasure to work with the entire Evergreen Valley College team to launch this building project successfully and have the support of the District, our Inspector of Record, GilbaneCordoba, Perkins Eastman and their consultants, and our trade partners," said Cristina Polk, Project Executive. Polk continued, "We look forward to the continued building progress to provide a future-forward, learning space to faculty, staff and future nursing students."
