Turner Construction Company's Vancouver, British Columbia team is celebrating their first ground-up project, with the recent completion of the Heather Place Redevelopment for Metro Vancouver Housing.
The Heather Place Redevelopment represents a significant milestone for the Vancouver team, and is a strong indicator of the work Turner Vice President and General Manager, cPatel has done in quickly growing regional market share since opening Turner’s Vancouver office in 2011. “I am thrilled that the work our company has done will make a genuine, positive impact for the people of Vancouver for years to come," said Patel. The project is also significant for Turner as a whole, as it demonstrates that its international expansion continues to prove fruitful.
The project includes the construction of a five-story, 67 residential rental unit building, complete with a cast-in-place concrete structure, with fiberglass windows, a combination of metal, cement, brick veneer as well as exposed architectural concrete making up the exterior finishes. The 57,000 square foot building was also awarded a LEED Gold certification. “This LEED certification recognizes the emphasis our team places on the environment and sustainability,” continued Patel. “We are proud of our work.”
