Turner Turkey sponsored the Soganbuku Primary School renovation project along with Yıldız Technical University Construction Club. Together, they dedicated their efforts to improving the appearance of the Primary School's facade. In addition to the renovation work, the team shared their precious moments with the children, creating a warm and engaging environment. It was a collaborative endeavor that not only rejuvenated the school's exterior but also brought joy and companionship to the students. The combined efforts of Turner and the Construction Club left a lasting impact on both the physical and emotional well-being of the school community.
Türkiye's team visited a home that had been severely damaged in a devastating fire and contributed essential materials that were delivered to the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, who oversaw the reconstruction efforts. This proactive approach aimed to expedite the process and ensure that the home of our community members would soon be restored to its former state. Through their collaborative efforts, the team and the municipality sought to provide a glimmer of hope and support to the affected individuals during this challenging time.
The team visited the Kurtkoy feeding point, spent time with street dogs, and distributed much needed dog food. The dogs, initially cautious, soon ate eagerly, displaying trust and gratitude. The team provided affection and care, aiming to alleviate the dogs' loneliness and inspire others to get involved. Their act of kindness not only addressed hunger but also brought comfort and hope, demonstrating compassion for these vulnerable animals.
A devastating 6.6 magnitude earthquake struck Izmir city in western Türkiye on October 30, 2020. The earthquake caused extensive damage to hundreds of buildings, with 13 being completely destroyed. Tragically, over a hundred lives were lost, and more than a thousand people were injured, leaving many homeless. Various campaigns, supported by organizations, ministries, and influential business figures, have been launched to aid the affected. Turner International's team in Türkiye recognizes the significance of social solidarity and has organized relief supply kits for the victims. Turner Türkiye's volunteers have traveled to Izmir to distribute these kits, offering our deepest condolences to those who have suffered immeasurable losses. The team is committed to contributing to this relief campaign in any way possible.
