Mass Timber Build: Southwest DC Neighborhood Library

Mass Timber Build: Southwest DC Neighborhood Library

The Mid-Atlantic project team's mission statement for the Southwest Neighborhood Library project was "To deliver an award-winning project that is impactful to the community and doing so through collaboration, efficiency and respectful communication."

The team was able to stay true to this mission throughout the design-build of the beautiful two-story, 21,000 square foot community space in the heart of Southwest Washington, DC. And this was in the midst of the COVID pandemic!

This LEED Platinum certified building features sustainable and environmentally friendly features such as a mass timber structure and solar panels surrounded by a vegetative roof that will supply half of the library's energy needs.
