PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center Emergency Department Opens to Patients

The first phase of the campus modernization is complete.

The completion of the first phase of the master facilities program, led by Turner Construction Company, was celebrated with the unveiling of the emergency department at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center in Vancouver, Washington. The emergency department, which has reached substantial expansion, is now fully open and equipped to provide patient care.

The first phase of the project started with relocating and building a temporary ambulance and patient entrance. The two-story, 55,000 square foot expansion includes state of the art treatment, exam and trauma rooms with a modern light filled lobby. The addition is a 24-bed unit Observation Unit and 4,000 square foot Community Center dedicated to providing care to non-medical patients. The planning, procurement, and installation of the medical equipment was facilitated by Turner’s subsidiary, SourceBlue. The new facility is expected to reduce patient wait times for one of the busiest emergency departments in the Pacific Northwest.

After the Phase Two renovation of the old emergency department is completed in 2025, the project will have doubled the square footage and the number of treatment spaces of the Emergency Department.
