Turner Construction Company Completes Work on Two Projects for University of Georgia

The $41.4 million Black-Diallo-Miller Residence Hall is a six-story 120,000 square foot facility that will provide housing for 525 first-year students in double-occupancy rooms beginning in fall 2022. Residents will enjoy large windows, built-in closets, and extensive shared lounge and study areas. The building is named in honor of Harold A. Black, Mary Blackwell Diallo and Kerry Rushin Miller, the first African American students to enroll as freshmen and complete their undergraduate degrees.

The $52 million Interdisciplinary STEM Research Building, Phase II, is a three-story 100,000 square foot facility built on top of an existing 320 space parking deck. The building provides space for 27 principal investigators, laboratory space for chemistry, biology, and engineering, as well as interdisciplinary research space and classrooms. Together with Phase I, the building optimizes collaborative interactions and innovations in chemistry, engineering, and related STEM disciplines for students and researchers.
