Turner Marks 124th Anniversary with Founders’ Month of Community Impact

Turner teams worldwide will unite throughout May to strengthen communities and expand access to construction careers.

In celebration of its founding in May 1902, Turner Construction Company is proud to launch its annual Founders’ Month, a global effort that brings together more than 16,000 employees in service to the communities where they live and work.

The construction industry hired approximately four million workers in the United States but added only approximately 400,000 jobs in 2025. The Associated Builders and Contractors estimates the industry will need to attract roughly 365,000 net additional workers in 2026 to keep pace with demand, with skilled trades availability emerging as one of the most critical constraints on project delivery.

With that challenge in mind, this year's Founders' Month places an emphasis on strengthening the construction workforce pipeline — connecting community engagement with training, access, and career opportunities that help bring more people into the trades and support them in building long-term careers.

Throughout May, Turner teams will volunteer their time, skills, and resources to support local organizations and initiatives. Efforts will include partnerships with workforce development programs, schools, and training providers aimed at expanding access to careers in construction, alongside food and supply drives, community space renovations, and collaborations with healthcare organizations.

“The workforce challenge facing our industry is real, and it's one we can help address,” said Fuquan Collins, Senior Vice President, Turner Construction Company. “This year, Founders' Month is putting an increased emphasis on strengthening the talent pipeline and connecting our community efforts to training, access, and career opportunities alongside the work our teams do every May.”

“What I value about Founders' Month is that it puts our people shoulder to shoulder with the organizations doing this work every day,” said Pamyla Fountain Brown, Vice President, Turner Construction Company. “These partnerships are how we create real impact — from strengthening the workforce pipeline to supporting the food banks, schools, and organizations that are the backbone of our communities.”

Founders’ Month reflects how Turner turns its values into action. By aligning community engagement with workforce development, the company is helping open doors to careers in construction and supporting the long-term vitality of the communities it serves.
