Turner provided preconstruction and construction services for a complex phased expansion and addition of the Pediatric Emergency Department at WellStar Douglas Hospital. Built directly adjacent to WellStar Douglas' existing active Emergency Department, the "just-for-kids" friendly 6,700 sq. ft. ED is a nautical-themed space that features a waiting room and ten treatment rooms with child-sized furniture, equipment, and supplies.
The project's proximity to WellStar Douglas' existing Emergency Department required a temporary drop-off, significant daily coordination with the Owner to ensure no impacts on their existing services, and extensive coordination of MEP system tie-ins and overall building systems. Turner delivered the project on schedule and within budget.
