The Bedford Family Center was built on the WWFY’s Mahackeno camp site – a 32 acre parcel adjacent to the Saugatuck River and the Merritt Parkway. The Y includes a fitness center, exercise studios, locker rooms, gymnasium, spinning studio, office space and a new aquatics center.
Bedford Family Center has become a fixture in both the town of Westport and from Connecticut's Merit Parkway. The nearly 100 year old original Y it replaced was located in the heart of downtown Westport with limited parking.
The Y includes a fitness center, exercise studios, locker rooms, gymnasium, spinning studio, office space and a new aquatics center. The aquatics center features a 10-lane, 25-yard competition pool with a state of the art video board and touch-pad timing system along with a two-lane warm water family pool. The competition pool features the first indoor aquatic climbing wall approved in the state of Connecticut. The project site includes a wastewater treatment plant utilizing a FAST system and computer controlled leaching field system.
