The Fair Hill Racetrack and Special Event Area serves as a world-class venue for the Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill equestrian competition. Featuring an Ian Stark-designed, cross-country course as well as the new dressage and show jumping arenas, the Fair Hill Racetrack and Special Event Area is one of only seven sites in the world, and the second in the U.S., to host 4- and 5-star equestrian event competitions.
The prestigious ‘5 Star’ designation is the pinnacle of the Olympic sport of Eventing, often described as an equestrian triathlon. Riders are required to compete in these events to qualify for the Olympics. The new Racetrack and Special Event Area marks a new chapter for the State of Maryland’s rich horse and equestrian tradition.
