Henkel Laundry Pilot Plant and Beauty Care

Henkel Unveils Laundry Pilot Plant & Beauty Care

Henkel relocated their Arizona laboratories to Connecticut in the form of the Laundry Pilot Plant and Beauty Care project in Trumbull. This project featured a significant renovation, structural improvements, MEP infrastructure replacements and a prefabricated central utility plant (CUP).

Additional Features

The project consisted of demolition of Henkel's warehouse and a second-floor independent addition to create an expanded facility. The first-floor construction included a laundry pilot plant, a beauty pilot plant, three stability chambers, back of house utility rooms, an air care testing/quality control area and an elevator. The second floor includes laboratory space, offices, four stability chambers, a RODI (Reverse Osmosis/De-Ionised water) system, mechanical room and future expansion area.

The off-site construction of the CUP expedited the project and was rigged in a single weekend. Turner achieved results through complete transparency, implementation of Lean construction practices and open communication.
