LaFayette Central School District, 2020 Capital Project

Districtwide Facilities & HVAC Modernization

With a focus on student and staff health and safety, as well as a commitment to innovation, the project encompassed three main objectives: enhancing air quality to create healthier learning environments, upgrading facility infrastructure to ensure safety, health, and security, and implementing educational program enhancements.

Turner provided preconstruction and construction management services for the renovation project at Grimshaw Elementary School. The scope of work included repairing pavement to fields, addressing structural issues with the kitchen flooring, and replacing the septic tank. A key goal was to modify and enhance the overall airflow within the building, specifically in the cafeteria, gymnasium, and second-floor classrooms, by introducing air conditioning. Additionally, the Library Media Center underwent a well-deserved upgrade as part of this comprehensive project.

At the Junior/Senior High School, various repairs were carried out, such as addressing the auxiliary gym roof and installing new water heaters, in addition to other minor improvements. Furthermore, modifications were made to the HVAC systems in several areas of the building, including the Wellness Center, Big Picture wing, main gym, music/choir rooms, and second-floor classrooms. These adjustments aimed to improve airflow and, where applicable, introduce air conditioning to enhance the comfort and functionality of these spaces.
