Providing a healing environment for patients and their families, the Miller Children’s Hospital Pediatric Inpatient Tower adds seven operating rooms for inpatient and outpatient surgery, a pediatric imaging center, central sterile, conference center and 24 new neonatal intensive care beds. This brought the facility’s total number of bassinettes to 96, among the largest NICU’s in the state. The new facility was also built to allow space for an additional 24 general pediatric beds and 24 NICU bassinettes. In addition to the inpatient tower, Turner constructed a new central plant with cooling towers, chillers, and emergency generators to services the MemorialCare campus. The project included extensive site and infrastructure upgrades, including the demolition of an existing parking structure.
