New York Genome Center, Johnson & Johnson, JLABS @ NYC

Turner provided preconstruction and construction services for the New York Genome Center located at 101 Avenue of the Americas. The 23,000 sq. ft. build-out consisted of lab, office and event space, collaboration rooms and amenity spaces. The scope of work included lab casework, life safety systems, MEP upgrades, sound masking, and office fronts. Lean construction methods divided into four areas: east labs, south labs, north offices and collaboration rooms, were used to maintain the project's overall schedule. The building's occupied space with several sensitive tenant operations posed additional project challenge. Close coordination was paramount to ensure operations were not disrupted.
