Turner was the construction manager for the multi-phased design/build of a prototype refrigerated warehouse. This project consists of a freezer, cooler, and cold dock addition (33 docks) to the existing facility on Packer Avenue.
Phase 1 also consisted of demolition of the existing fuel island and construction of a new maintenance building/fuel island, paving, and site improvements. The foundations are timber piles with pile caps, grade beams, pile-supported structural slab, steel structure, insulated metal panels and precast for the exterior wall, TPO roof membrane, and an ammonia refrigeration system for the freezer and cooler.
Phase 2 consisted of renovation of the existing warehouse into an expanded dry warehouse facility including new operations offices, break room, bathrooms and lockers, hydrogen-fueled equipment storage, lighting, and an Esq. ft.R fire protection system. The new expansion totaled 238,000 sq. ft. and the renovations totals 28,000 sq. ft.
