Turner provided preconstruction and construction management services for the phased renovation of the existing plaza, lobby, elevator bank, and elevator cabs at 767 Third Avenue for Sage Realty. The project's goal was to modernize the structure while paying homage to its original architectural vision.
The centerpiece of the lobby involved replacing the small glass pieces on the facade with 19-foot-tall curved glass panels, with no intermediate mullions, that were manufactured and shipped from Germany. These panels, created with cutting-edge technology, create a unique, piano-shaped lobby area and usher in ample natural light to the space.
The team also completed a complete sidewalk and exterior plaza update and replacement.
The floor was redone in a modern light-gray terrazzo, which complements the custom-made concrete desk and epoxy desk, which was manufactured in Virginia. Additionally, the team visited the production site to ensure that it was true to the design intent and met the project schedule.
The ceiling was redesigned in all white to ensure continuity between the interior and exterior ceilings. New LED lighting was installed, brightening the lobby and the adjacent plaza.
