The Consolidated Rental Car Facility at the San Antonio International Airport was completed over multiple phases, which included the demolition/rerouting of the central utility plant, site development and the building of a consolidated rental car facility. The design of the rental car facility was focused on a seamless customer and employee experience. The facility accommodates multiple rental car brands, customer counters, offices, customer support areas, ready/return areas and approximately 1,950 parking spaces.
The 292,000 sq. ft. quick turn around area includes maintenance stations, wash and fuel facilities, a fuel transfer facility that houses fuel storage tanks, and roughly 200 parking spaces. For the rental car customer, the facility saves an average of 15 minutes in both renting and return of rental vehicles. The project gives the customer the ability to easily shop for alternative rental car companies. They have simple, direct, access to the rental cars through a sky bridge and easy way finding on their return trip. Overall, the Aviation Transit Center includes:
