The new 54,000 sq. ft. Engineering Classroom & Research Building at Texas A&M University’s Galveston campus establishes a unified home for seven engineering departments. Designed as a three-story academic hub, the facility strengthens interdisciplinary collaboration while supporting the evolving educational and research mission of the university.
The building integrates administrative offices and conference spaces with technology-enabled active learning environments tailored to modern engineering curricula. These classrooms are designed to foster collaboration, adaptability, and student engagement, supporting hands-on learning and real-world problem solving. Dedicated research laboratory spaces provide critical infrastructure for faculty-led research programs, advancing innovation and discovery across multiple engineering disciplines.
The facility also features a variety of collaboration spaces that encourage peer-to-peer learning and cross-departmental interaction. A cutting-edge maker space anchors the building, empowering students to design, fabricate, and test physical prototypes, bridging theory and application while preparing graduates for industry and research careers.
