Warner Music is one of the few remaining major record labels on historic Music Row, and this project brought a renewed sense of creative energy into their offices and recording spaces.
Turner partnered with the industry giant to renovate and modernize their Warner Music Nashville (WMN) and Warner Chappell Music Nashville (WCMN) offices.
Located at 20 Music Square East, the redevelopment of the three-story, 35,900-sq. ft. WMN building included the conversion of the lobby into an intimate performance area with a stage, seating, a specialized lighting grid, and a state-of-the-art public address system.
The project involved the addition of a multipurpose audio- and video-production studio with a tracking room for recording and content capture, multiple isolation booths, and open collaboration spaces. The new recording studio suite is a first for WMN, providing artists an in-house space to record music.
The new home of WCMN, WMN’s music publishing arm, is across the street at 21 Music Square East.
The two-story, 12,925-sq. ft. building houses offices and writing space for music publishers and songwriters. Transformation of the space required total interior demolition of the building, structural demolition, and the addition of an elevator.
The space now includes 10 writer’s rooms with premium equipment and enhanced acoustics, an indoor artist performance stage, a bar, an open kitchen, and an outdoor lounge area with an additional performance stage.
