In December 2020, Turner Malaysia organized a 40 km charity run in support of Make-A-Wish® Malaysia. The event aimed to raise funds for the charity organisation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. With over 20,000 children in Malaysia seeking treatment for critical illnesses, Make-A-Wish® Malaysia strives to provide them and their families with a day of joy through immersive activities. Despite the challenges posed by the global Covid-19 pandemic, the event and the donations aimed to bring happiness to these wonderful children and their families. The impact of even a small contribution can be truly remarkable in the life of a child.
On August 2022, over 20 of our colleagues transformed basic ingredients into delicious meals, which were then distributed to those in need in several low-income communities. Each care package contained essential items such as rice, cooking oil, and canned food. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of skilled volunteers, over 300 meal packs and 45 boxes of essential groceries were provided. We are immensely grateful to the Food Aid Foundation for leading this impactful initiative and extend our sincere appreciation to all the hardworking volunteers who made this cookout session a success.
A heartfelt shout-out to all the golfers and volunteers who joined us for 2022 Make a Wish – Annual Charity Golf Tournament at the prestigious golf course. As proud Gold Sponsors, we aimed to make a meaningful impact by granting the wishes of children facing life-threatening medical conditions. Witnessing our golfers at the driving range was truly captivating. The event continued with a delightful dinner and an auction, where golfers enthusiastically bid on their favorite items, all for a noble cause. Together, we strive to fulfill life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
During Malaysia's national lockdown, many workers were left without employment, leading to a significant reduction in income. In response, the TNB Platinum team partnered with Sunway Construction and other consultants to launch the Platinum Food Aid Program, which raised RM6,900 to purchase food supplies for foreign workers involved in the project. Over 170 workers have received assistance, and the team aims to continue providing relief with the remaining funds. This act of kindness demonstrates that even small efforts can have a significant impact on the lives of those in need.
