Every year Leadership Lathrop, a group of new hires, organize a large volunteer project for the Lathrop business unit. NeighborWorks Toledo helps restore and revitalize local neighborhoods, primarily for the benefit of current and future residents, by providing services and programs that renew pride, stimulate reinvestment and restore confidence and trust.
The team of more than 80 volunteers spent time working on beautification and curb appeal in the neighborhood and updating the exterior finishes on the houses.
Lathrop received applications from several homeowners requesting help with updating the exteriors of their homes with new paint, storm doors, landscaping, porch repairs, and exterior lighting. A few subcontractors and community partners also helped with the volunteer efforts.
“From its beginnings, Lathrop has been a community-minded organization. Giving back to people and places of northwest Ohio is part of who we are as a business,” said Bill Kidd, Business Manager of Lathrop. “As one of Toledo’s oldest neighborhoods, East Toledo is on the cusp of revitalization with the many new projects underway including the Glass City Metropark. But it’s the people who live there who make the community what it is, and we’re honored to help them renovate their homes.”
