Turner provided preconstruction and construction services for this major renovation to the historic Littlejohn Coliseum on the Clemson campus. The 250,000 sq.ft. project included modifications to the arena court, a 9,000 seat bowl, concourses, basketball operations center, and support spaces.
This project allows Clemson University to further its overall vision for reenergizing its prime basketball facility.
The renovation provided increased premium level seating, an NCAA regulation practice facility, men’s and women’s coaches offices, weight rooms, locker rooms, recruitment gathering spaces, and video editing and theater areas.
The project also included a significant upgrade to the quality and character of the public exterior face of the building. The massing of the building in large part remained, but the incorporation of transparent materials and the use of light in more contemporary way was high on the list of desired changes.
