San Francisco City Hall Seismic Renovation

Preserving the Past while Shaping the Future

San Francisco City Hall, a national and city historical landmark building, received seismic renovations to ensure its longevity. The project included the installation of a base isolation system, repairs of damage resulting from the 1989 Loma Prieta Earthquake, historical restoration, rehabilitation, and various ADA and architectural upgrades and interior improvements to modernize the building. The structure has 500,000 sq. ft. of inhabitable space over five main floors with a central dome that tops out at 300 feet above grade.
