Located in the heart of the Memphis Medical District, the Shelby County Health Department facility enables improved efficiency, flexibility, and responsiveness in healthcare service that aligns with the county's mission to protect and advance the health, well-being, and environment of residents. The three-story facility features a contemporary design that incorporates elements such as open spaces and abundant natural light to promote healthy living and welcome congregation, while still ensuring circulation. The project also utilized a significant amount of MWBE subcontractors, which was of utmost importance to both the client and Turner. Ensuring the opportunity for minority subcontractors to gain experience and learn on a county project was a point of pride for the Turner Memphis team, which champions workforce development initiatives in Memphis. The project was a 2021 Memphis Business Journal Building Memphis finalist.
